Course Purpose To equip support workers with the essential knowledge and hands-on skills required to safely assist clients receiving percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) feeding. This training also clarifies the boundaries of the support worker’s scope of practice and provides guidance on when concerns must be escalated to a nurse or other health professionals. Learning Outcomes By the end of this course, participants will be able to: * Explain what PEG feeding is and the reasons it is used. * Describe their role, responsibilities, and limitations when supporting a client with PEG feeding. * Demonstrate safe preparation, setup, and administration of PEG feeds. * Apply correct hygiene and infection-prevention practices when handling PEG equipment. * Identify common problems or complications and know when and how to escalate to an RN, GP, or emergency services. * Accurately document all PEG feeding activities in accordance with organisational policy.
